Default Bit of a red alert situation..help !

flashing graphics bios and we had a power hiccup, now i cant get the pc to boot, its acting as if theres no graphics card or the graphics card is stopping the thing booting up.

its a pci-e slot as well so i have no other card to try anything.

is there anyway to boot the pc blind and reflash ?

i have the floppy all setup,so i can easily do it blind.
BUT i cant get the thing to boot to do it ?

    any tricks ?

I don't know if there is an automatic way of flashing the BIOS, i swear i read somewhere there was, but don't quote me on that. I know that most people would suggest grabing a cheap PCI (not pci-e) card, this will allow you to get the card sorted out, but as for blind flashing, you'll have to look for it. If you do find anything post back, i'd be interested to book mark that just in case.

exactly what i did, went and bought an old 3dfx voodoo and tried the re-flash,but whenever the X1800 gto is plugged into the mobo,it just wont post and hangs there without even trying to.

from looking around, the 2nd card method only works if the 2 buses are different, ie: an agp and a pci/pci-e,
that way the Pci-e isnt automatically taking the lead when booting up,EVEN if you have selected/deselected the bootup sequence in the mobo bios.

RMA requested and awaiting it now.

this ends my foray into the world of bios flashing £100 right down the crapper.

arriving first thing in the morning is the >
u have ordered the following items:
    Item: HIS X1800GTO IceQ3 Turbo 2x Dual Link DVI VIVO 256MB 256bit GDDR3 PCI-E
    Qty: 1Cost: 116.59

    just dont tell the mrs,
as i told her the other one just died of natural causes

for anyone who finds this thread on the perils of bios flashing an X1800gto [sapphire],i give two piece`s of knowledge i gleened from this episode.

1: after flashing the bios..DO NOT REBOOT unless 1000 % positive it took.
if you saw any error or glitch, revet the bios back, from the same floppy you flashed the new,as you should always have both bioses on same disk, with 2 bat files....JUST in case.

2: never EVER trust the information found on those cabbage chomping russian forums, where they post total testicles, and claim to able to do what others couldn`t.

    can a Sapphire X1800gto be flashed to a 16 pipe Xl ?
can it hell !!!!!!!!!!....DONT EVEN TRY IT.
