    Default PhysX update

In case anyone is using PhysX I saw an update that is just a few days old:

Supports NVIDIA PhysX acceleration on all GeForce 8-series, 9-series and 200-series GPUs with a minimum of 256MB dedicated graphics memory.
Experience GPU PhysX acceleration in many games and demos, some of which are highlighted in PowerPack downloads on www.geforce.com.
Resolves PhysX SDK runtime issues with multi-GPU configurations in Hybrid environments.
Improves performance of some PhysX enabled games on GeForce GTX 285 and GTX 295 products.
Resolves occasional system crashes when PhysX is enabled on some systems when running on EA’s Mirrors Edge.

Runtime upgrade ONLY for AGEIA PhysX processors users. (New installations should install older PhysX system software such as version 8.09.04 – prior to installing this update).
Includes the latest PhysX runtimes used in the latest game titles.
Supports NVIDIA PhysX acceleration on GeForce via CUDA 2.0 for SDK versions 2.7.3, 2.7.2, 2.7.5, 2.8.0 and 2.8.1 (requires graphics driver v177.81 or later).
Includes all the latest PhysX SDK Runtimes.
Supports latest combines PhysX and SLI control panel featured in the latest GeForce drivers.

Yes, I'm hoping this fixes the crashing issue with Mirror's Edge with PhysX turned on. TABbing out of the game would cause a crash, so I ended up turning it off.

Does the fact that ATI cards don't have PhysX influence many buyers' decision between the two manufacturers?

Not sure. At this point, not many mainstream/popular games support PhysX. That looks to change, however, but by the time it has, ATI should have it by then too. According to Nvidia, they want to help ATI with PhysX, for whatever reason.

I'm more of a price-for-performance guy myself, but there will be those people that don't care about the money and just want the best possible.

You know what, I too have that same problem. Just installed the update and Im testing now in M.E. I'll post back with results.

EDIT: The update DOES fix the alt+tab issue in Mirrors Edge

I've got 2 GTX275's arriving soon, I'll have to see what they can do with PhysX on.

Also have an actual PhysX card laying here on the shelf, wonder if it'll play nice with ATI for this............
