On another forum someone ran a benchmark on the new 9.7 drivers

    9.6

    2009-07-23 05:47:38 - Crysis
    Frames: 1558 - Time: 50288ms - Avg: 30.982 - Min: 25 - Max: 38

    9.7

    2009-07-23 13:24:46 - Crysis
    Frames: 2070 - Time: 60602ms - Avg: 34.157 - Min: 28 - Max: 51

Nice improvement..since I bench with FRAPS, the benchmarks arent consistent (just me running around for a couple minutes, usually trying to stress the framerate), so some of the improvement could be due to that, but whatever, I got more than 10% speedup. Makes Crysis even more nicely playable. I noticed that my framerate often touched the high 40's with the 9.7's. Pretty amazing to run Crysis all very high at those speeds, never thought I'd see that.

The new control panel sucks. it takes forever to navigate compared to the old one.

You have to get use to it. It's always feel like this when something is new.
They remove the left options menu panel and put it under pull-down tab menu instead. I guess they want to remove the clusters make it more simplier.

I can see their design point of view though. How often you're actually browse thru this menu?
I'm sure only one in a blue moon. Customize it to your liking and leave it until the next neccessary changes. That's it, at least what I'm doing.
