This is the card I have been looking at. I almost ordered it today when I ordered a couple other things, but still have stuff to order so left it to order in my next order.
Several people commented about this card in my thread 5750 verses 5770 and brand. After reading the comments I decided this sounds like a good card for a moderate price. I don't need a super fast gaming card.

yea i read it.. but it woulda been nice if a regular 5770 was thrown in there... but i guess getting a card with a upgraded cooler is better than buying one later

Unfortunately I don't have a reference design 5770 on hand. But you can't go wrong with a Vapor-X regardless of which card it is.

$10 off, $10 MIR and free shipping. The price is right.

I don't know when Fermi is gonna arrive but that may drive prices even lower.

Traz, sat what, we have a new EAH5770 coming in from Asus for review shortly. If your not in a hurry you might want to wait and see what the performance is like from the Asus card. They added a lot of extra copper which should help with keeping temps down to a minimum.

Performance should be about the same since clock speeds will be near identical. Only real difference will be temps/noise, possibly overclocking, and price.

this is what i was focused on, the temps in particular, because my 7900 runs at 60C (idle) and im looking to cool my computer down

Since I heard the I7 930 is coming out 2/28 I will be waiting at least until then to complete my purchases. I figured for 2 weeks i might as well wait & go with the 930. Think you will have the card to review by then?
Thanks for the heads up , I will be watching.

Not sure, I haven't received the card yet. But from experience of testing MANY cards of various manufacturers, my guess is the Vapor-X will run cooler and quieter but this card will have higher overclocking potential and better included utilities. Depends which you value more, but my educated guess is that's how things will shake out.

I have heard the Vapor-X 5770 has had problems detecting the 800 shaders and lists them in your specs as 720, the 5750's number of shaders. I was originally looking at this card as well.

Its better than what you have now... that's for sure. I'm still trying to get a 5870.. I don't want to go lower in performance than what I'm using now.

Looking at this card as well for a friends first build , has more than enough power for her with her looking to add a second card to crossfire in a few months which would certainly meet any gaming requirements for quite some time. Its her first build and am concerned about the driver issues i'm finding along with "grey screen of death" shader issues ??

Anyone aware if this has been addressed as I certainly don't want her first build to be an unpleasant one , we all remember our first build .Her board is capable of doing SLI or crossfire so the setup can be either just thought it would be nice to have a cool , quiet card (eventually 2 cards) especially seeing she will be folding with them as well.

Direct x 11 outweighs the fact that Nvidia cards fold better as she will be playing future games when they come out and this should help prolong the upgrade cycle for her . Any info is well appreciated ,shes all over me to suggest something , she's got the bug already hope i have not created a monster ! lol Dont know if i should get her started on Over Clocking

    thanks
