Default Report: new iPod nano is immensely overpriced

According to figures from iSuppli, quoted by BusinessWeek, Apple's new iPod nano systems are immensely overpriced. iSuppli estimates that the parts used in the unit cost Apple $58.85 for the 4GB $149 model, and $82.85 for the 8GB $199 version. Before you get angry, it's worth noting that the figures don't represent software development, packaging, final assembly, and distribution costs.

    Yeh it's unreal....

The earlier models were probably priced similar to their manufacturing costs, but i reckon once Apple learned the potential, they went a bit overboard in the pricing department.

I've aways been extremly biased against iPods, and i'll happily admit it. Sorry to three quarters of the world who have been sucked in, but iPods are stupid. They only appeal to people because of there simplicity and ease of use. And I should probably stop writing now...

i'm sure some people have some sort of need or want for one which is genuine, got no problem with that other than they are overpriced so should really look at other brands, but too many people want one on the back of the apple brand and the huge buzz about owning one, it'll make you cool don't you know, don't you know.

I think i hate Apple, they grab the self concious people who think they will stand out by buying from them, and of course they do stand out, just not the way they think they do.

I have never been an apple fan, and I never will, because they rip you off. The iPods are extremely over priced. Does anybody know why the iPod is so popular when other MP3 players are much better and are less popular?
