    Default AMD's BIOS fix for TLB erratum slows down Phenom, further

    Here comes another blow for AMD: the BIOS fix that supposedly repairs Phenom's Translation Lookaside Buffer logic for the L3 cache - which under specific circumstances causes system crashes - limits the processor's performance by an average 13.9% for office applications, or 19.8% when including memory subsystem results. The test subject was a Phenom 9600 on an MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboard, tested with and without the patched BIOS.

    ouch, this is certainly not what AMD needed. Still, i can see Phenom doing good things next year.

    Definatly not what they needed. But, once they've got these issues fixed and bring out the faster phenoms they should do quite well.
