Default BIOSTAR System-On-Chip Solutions - Smaller is Better

July 28th, 2014, Taipei, Taiwan – BIOSTAR has announced the series of mini ITX with CPUs on board, (known as System on a Chip or SoC). These boards are centered on being small and efficient using a small form factor with an embedded CPU, having low power consumption, and being fan-less. They are perfect for all sorts of various industrial applications.

The BIOSTAR mini-ITX SoC series is the latest in all-in-one boards that optimized the performance of Intel’s Bay Trail and AMD’s Kabini SoC products by delivering a new generation of technology with value-added features and easy integration. The boards in this series are suitable for ultra-small form factor builds or all-in-one systems that require dual display capabilities in a fan-less PC.

These boards are in the mini-ITX form factor which is backwards compatible with ATX and micro-ATX form factors. The ITX form factor allows you to build small and energy efficient solutions. BIOSTAR is offering simple, affordable and internet centric computer designs in a compact 17x17cm size. It is the ideal solution for an ultra-small form factor system and easily used with various chassis makes.

For the Smart Office situation a BIOSTAR ITX board will give you a budget saving dual core computing based on either the Intel J1800 or AMD E-2100 chips. These are silent fan-less designs featuring low power consumption. This is perfect for office space saving and creating a neat and tidy office area. Ultra speed data transfers are no problem with the USB 3.0 interface.

For the Digital Entertainment Center (HTPC) PC you can use a powerful Quad Core CPU with multi-tasking computing such as the Intel J1900 or AMD E4-5000 systems. They will features full HD 1080P content with smooth playback via HDMI interface. You can also enjoy light gaming capability with powerful graphics and crystal clear sound with HD Audio. They are also silent fan-less designs featuring low power consumption and Ultra speed data with USB 3.0 interface. In addition they include BIOSTAR’s Bio-Remote 2 for wireless control.

There are a multitude of business applications such as:

    Digital Signage

Digital signage is all about targeting your audience with relevant information. Using a network connected digital sign allows you to get your message across effectively with convenience and distinction. Digital signage is used in way-finding, place making, exhibitions, public installations and out-door marketing and advertising activities.

    Thin Clients

A thin client, sometimes also called a lean client, is a low-cost, centrally-managed computer without optical drives or expansion slots. As software as a service (SaaS) gains in popularity, it is expected that thin clients and "blade" PCs will replace desktop PCs in many work and education environments.

    Point of Sales

Point of Sales, or POS, evolved from several generations of traditional cash register drawer systems and today consists of integrating PC technology directly into the register. From ordinary retail cash drawer and receipt printing to backend financial management, POS systems are widely used in dining, hotel, entertainment and medical applications.

    Kiosks

Kiosks offer a way to reduce labor costs using self-service. A lot of product information, sales and service can be achieved with low cost and non-interrupted supplies. Aside from mutual interactive services, Kiosks can be used for cash billing, ticketing, photo printing and other functions 24 hours a day as a nonstop service.
