With DisplayPort monitors slowly appearing from Dell, and the occasional supporting graphics card, things are slowly getting underway for the future standard. AMD has today announced its FireGL V7700 professional graphics card, which is outfitted with a DisplayPort output. Based on the same RV670 core in the HD 3800-series, it includes all the usual frills like 320 stream processors and PCI Express 2.0 support. Aside from the DisplayPort socket, a dual-link DVI port and a high-definition component video port are also included.
