Default HyperX Expands Sound by Expanding their Headset: Cloud Revolver S

I’m not an audiophile, but I’m beginning to think it’s only because I can’t afford to be one. Each time I get to hear a better quality listening experience, I’m blown away by the clarity and feel of the music I’m listening to. CES 2017 gave me one such experience while I was there and while I sort of mentioned it in the video, I wanted to point out that the HyperX Cloud Revolver S not only sounded great as expected, but I was really surprised by how well it’s 7.1 surround feature worked.

Surround headsets haven’t impressed me that much until this point. They do seem to work well for games, but once you try to settle into a nice music listening session, the sound seems a bit hollow or too tinny. HyperX had a display of their Cloud Revolver S so I got to put it on, pick a song I knew and take in the experience. It blew me away! It seems that while the headset has the unique feature of being a plug-and-play Dolby 7.1 Surround unit, it’s also the feature that might be attributing to the amazing sound. The Cloud Revolver S relies on an external USB dongle that’s designed to support the surround feature, I can’t help but suspect that it’s playing a role in the general sound quality as well. Needless to say, the 50mm drivers themselves play a critical role, but the end result regardless of the causes is hard to argue with.

HyperX certainly has a winner on it’s hands with this unit. Considering it was at the end of a line of their other headsets, it made it easy to discern the audio difference. The only disclaimer to keep in mind is to remember that I can’t claim genuine audiophile status and your playback equipment still has to have a certain level of quality as well. HyperX had some other new releases so check the link and galleries below to see more. http://www.businesswire.com/news/hom...lsefire-Gaming

I've always loved the sound in gaming, but not so much in music. That Cloud S was the first to really change my mind on it, but it goes to show how much quality makes an impact on audio.
