It comes at an extremely, ridiculously high price compared to past generations of cards. They are making so many variants too and pricing them too high and it is sickening. This is why I have said no to Nvidia until pricing becomes reasonable. Just bought an AMD RX 5700 XT and plan on buying an AMD CPU. Ray tracing may be great for a small amount of games and I have supported Green Team for a long time but there is no excuse for the massive price increase for adding a feature. Also you mention it may take some time for game titles to catch up using the technology by the time that happens some of the cards now that are overpriced will be obsolete or people will have dead cards and thus be replacing them. Did I like PhysX with Nvidia when it was proprietary? Yes. I still bought Nvidia even though I should not have but I sure as heck didn't overpay like one does now. Also i regards to recent offering before the RTX series of cards there was the GTX 1080 Ti and in Canada you could get one for $1000 and now with RTX the top card is at least 1/3 more expensive than that. If they want to increase their top end card a bit that is fine but you see these cards at times up to $1500 and $2000 and it just plain ridiculous. Finally what happened to the pricing of value cards? Oh wait there is no such thing now. Nvidia can stick Ray Tracing where the sun don't shine.
