hmm good thing my friend talk me into waiting for the Nehalem and to build my rig around christmas time.

also on this article it said:
First, the CPU and its new socket: while the roadmaps say the high-end Nehalem to be launched in Q4 will have up to eight cores, the one MSI had in its office was just a quad-core but with eight threads.

and on wiki it says the only one with 8 cores will be Nehalem-EX aka Beckton and that would be a socket type LGA1567.
all the Bloomsfield will be quads, Westmere will be a die shrink of Nehalem and will be hexa (6) cores.

so is there going to be a Bloomsfield with 8 cores?

I think Nahalem don't come out until late in 2009, can you wait that long?
Luckly for me I have X38 board, all I have to upgrade is the CPU or grfx card and it will last me for another 3 yrs before I do a major rebuild a new flatform. About this time there will be better available products (board, cpu, video...etc)
