"Should be released in august" Anyone seen the price anywhere? Just wondering how it compares to 2* 4870s pricewise

I just hope it's available before August 7th, as that's when I'm attending a big LAN party. I'd go with 2 x 4870s, but then I'd have a hard time using the sound card in my system (it's a PCI Express 1x card).

    Can't wait for this card.

the rumour said this card will be 80% faster than a single 4870, and it will beats a GTX280.
I heard it is right on shecdule at late July or early in August for the release?

well no quesion it will be hot and big on the power bill but it does have a plx 2.0 chip so... it will without a doubt be a better preformer than 2 4870's and probly be on par with or beat out the GTX280. as far as price my guses is that it will be around 550 so just under what 2 4870's cost. at least thats what they did in the last gen. 3870 x2.

ok, if 4870X2 is around $550 and its performance on par as 2 x 4870 CF or better then it's a steal deal.

So right now if you have 4850 CF vs 4870 CF, 4850 will win with a best value, 4870 will take the performance crown.

However, 4850CF is only few frames behind 4870CF. So take your pick.

right but from what i can tell the 4870 CF will be the best overclocker. because there is more ability to diapate heat so if your going to be overclocking i think you may find better value in 2 4870's or if you have deep pockets wait for the 4870 X2.
