    Default Acer tout world's highest contrast ratio LCD

    Acer has officially introduced its new 24" G24 display, which is said to boast the world's highest LCD contrast ratio of 50,000:1. A 2ms response time is also noted.

    they suggest it won't be cheap, but it looks like a TN Film panel to me, so if it's not cheap, avoid.

    This 2msec time.... is there an industry standard yet Ie. black to white or white to black? cos I understand they are not the same

    i can't remember which one they use, but in general it does seem indutry standard now - they all seem to use the same one.

    As of now, when you see 2ms response times it always means its a TN Film panel, so viewing angles will be a little poor. When you see panels saying 6ms its normally a PVA panel, though not always as non- overdrven TN Film panels can sometime bearoung 5ms.

    If looking for a quality monitor i'd never touch TN Film, they aren't bad, but viewing angles are important to me.
