Default Mouse Issue in ASUS P8P67 EFI BIOS ...

I have the Microsoft Laser Desktop 5000 Wireless Mouse & Keyboard. When I get into BIOS, my keyboard works but the mouse doesn't.

Also, it behaves like the mouse is there, but not in my control. The cursor keeps moving in between, causing issues when I try to navigate with keyboard.

Has anybody faced this issue? with wireless Mouse & Keyboard. The Laser Desktop has a receiver unit that is connected to my Rig. through USB. But, the mouse & Keyboard communicate to the receiver unit wireless..

it's the wireless driver is the culprit, try to use with wired mouse then you will see the different.

But, the wireless keyboard works .. and that communicates well with the same receiver .. that the mouse communicates with ..
I even checked the BIOS updates and flashed the latest 1850 BIOS.. In the release notes they've mentioned that version 1650 addressed advanced mouse/keyboard support ..

I don't have the same board and mouse/keyboard set. I have ECS board hook up with Logitech 100 series, the mouse work but it has its own mind sometime so I stop using the mouse. Just switch to the way, the keyboard.

Wait for the other members to chime in, we have some people with UEFI bios board.

Yeah, checked that first The mouse works perfect once I boot into Windows..
Also, checked that i'm using the USB 2.0 port & not the USB 3.0 port for the receiver unit..

As I said...it is the driver issue with the bios, of course it's working fine because its windows driver loaded. The updated bios may still not fix the compatibility with your particular mouse set.

So, what do I do now ? This is the only Mouse I have.. and now that my system is up & running, I was planning on sitting this weekend and working on the OC. Currently, I just can't work in the BIOS at all, as the erratic mouse cursor keeps undoing my keyboard movements ..

you still can use the keyboard like the old way, use [tab] and arrow keys to navigate for now. Like I say you can get a cheap wired mouse for the future use if you like but I'm sure you can survive without one in the bios.

it is a problem with some UEFI bios. When i do reviews on various boards, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't explored why.....
