Default I'm new here! Just wanted to ask some questions with regards to E11 and 3930k

    Hello everyone,

I am absolutely crazed by my new setup.

    Currently my system is

    ASRock! Extreme 11

    Intel 2011 SB-E 3930K ( Turbo at 4.4Ghz )

Overclock is running extremely stable! The system performs great at this rate without the compromise of temperature overage.

    Idle Temp = 28 - 32C

    Load Temp = 50 - 60C

    8 x 4Gb 2133mhz (Corsair Vengeance) ( Running at 1600mhz )

I would love to run my memory up to 2133mhz however the system becomes extremely unstable at this rate. I did try running my system at 1866mhz however again the system had issues with blue screening.

I went from the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme of which this motherboard had no issue running my memory at 1866mhz however with other issues i've had to get the current board i am using.

The system is running stable at 1600mhz without and blue screening.

    2 x ASUS GTX 690 ( Running in QUAD SLI )

    None overclocked!

    Idle Temp = 28 - 30C
    Load Temp = 60 - 70C

    Corsair HX 1050 Power Supply

What can i say It powers on

    1 x 256 OCZ Vertex 4 SSD

Using the Intel X79 chipset i got around 500mb read and 470mb write.

Using the LSI controller ( No Raid ) I get around 510mb read and 515mb write.

    1 x 2TB Western Digital Black

Similar to the above i get faster read and write with the LSI controller.
    Thermaltake Water Cooler 2.0 FCS

Low Noise and Higher Cooling than the Corsair H100.

It's also much better the fact that i don't have to push a switch on the CPU block to keep the noise down as well.

The Thermaltake cooler comes with software and a USB cable to put in any USB connection within the motherboard.

    Thermaltake G10 Battle Edition

Good all rounder for a case

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

The reason why i am posting this is simple really to figure out what i am doing wrong with my entire setup.

    I've gone through 3, GTX 680 (2 x EVGA Classified) (1 x Zotac AMP Edition)

I've had the ASUS Sabertooth and the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme

I've purchased more stuff on this build but yet can-not seem to get it running to a high performance.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

All drivers are fully up to date and the bios on my current motherboard is 1.40 which is the latest.

I find that the more i play with my settings the more varied my results get, I am not a complete idiot when it comes to this stuff but i am sure you guys know your stuff!

My GTX 690's are running in a QUAD SLI with GPU 4 being the PhysX host.

    In Heaven DX11 Benchmark

    Score 1 = 5586
    Score 2 = 5404
    Score 3 = 5804

All settings are left standard and untouched when the program starts!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

I've seen videos on youtube with people getting higher scores ( Within the 6000 - 7000 range ) without overclocking the system.

I was wondering if anyone of you experts could skype me?

    lee.netarus = my skype

It would be great to screen share and chat within regards to my current hardware to get it tweaked and setup 100% for performance FPS.

    Best Regards,
    Lee!

Sorry for the blue light lol didn't realize it was that bright.

Also i know some of you guys are extreme on tidy cases lol The system has only been built and having had the urge to tidy the case

So extremely sorry about the messy cable situation haha

You really need to route your cables, it'snot only a mess in there, the cables are also restricting air flow. As far as PhysX, you should have it running through auto select. I'm currently the X79 Extreme9, 3960X, custom water cooling, 32GBs Corsair 1600MHz, two 256GB SSD's. 2 EVGA Classified GTX590s, Silent Pro 1500W, Cosmos II Ultra. I have no problem hitting 4.8GHz with the 3960X.

I was running 4 GTX680s in the above build, but I just built another system using a X79 Rampage 4 Formula, 3930K, Modded Boreas Chiller, the 4 GTX 680s I mentioned, 32GBs Kingston 1600MHz, Visiontek Racer 480GB, Enermax Maxrevo 1500W, Modded CM Stryker.

You should be using a different PSU, I tested the 1050, so believe me when I tell you that you need a better unit, especially when running two GTX690s.
    2nd system

    ASRock Z77 OC Formula, 2700K, Two EVGA GTX680s, and one GTX660 Ti PE, 16GBs 2133MHz, Lian Li A75X , Maxrevo 1500W, TT Extreme 240

    3rd system

ASUS ROG X79 Rampage 4 Formula, 3930K, Boreas Chiller, VisionTek 480GB, WD 750GB, 16GBs Kingston HyperX Red 1600MHz, Two GTX680s, OCZ 1250W, CM Stryker modded for the Boreas Chiller, 3 white Skull fans grills from MNPCTech.

Did you use X.M.P profile. If so, run memtest to see if any modules may be bad.

    Hey Guy's,

Just thought i would update you!

The ASRock Extreme 11 is faulty, it is the second one of these motherboards i have got.

The board is getting RMA'ED today.

Currently running a stable overclock at 4.6GHz on an Asus Rampage IV Extreme.

I am also going to invest in a new power supply today as advised.

However if the power supply was being smashed it would just turn off overall.

I will update you with new pics later today.

    Cheers!
