Default MSI X99 Godlike Gaming Motherboard

I though this was pretty cool. A motherboard with RGB lighting. Though personally i would have went the Krait Black and white color scheme if i was gonna add RGB lighting.

I was expecting to be appalled.....but it's actually pretty cool. I like the flash mode, it immediately made me think Frankenstein's Lab.

Can't say I am a fan of the look of the board, though.

Yeah, I like it too. Not sure I like the requirement to use a tablet, one wonders if there is an ability to control it from the BIOS or an application on the desktop...

Agree on the MB color. The Krait suggestion is a good one, but I expect it wouldn't be *that* hard to remove the covers and paint them....I dunno.

The LEd lighting is a waste of time and material if the damn board is already RED!! How can you possibly use the LEDS with any other color? It looked like sh*t with the blue and green and even red. Terrible call by MSI. Make it white or black and let us take care of the rest. Wth were they thinking.

Really nice find TeeBlack. Looking at getting a X99 system going, now considering either this one or the white X99 board...

Reminds me of a set of headphones that my son recently ordered online. They are USB "multi-color" and had translucent slits on the earpieces and the controller that were LED backlit and let you change the color to whatever you wanted. One problem, the translucent plastic... was red. SO, instead of green or blue or purple, or yellow you could have dirty greenish, light purple, reddish purple, orange-ish muck, etc. *shakes head* Doesn't anyone ever actually try the products they make and realize, "Um, this isn't right?"

    Did you mean succinct?
OK, I was a little short with that comment, but throwing pretty lights on something to appeal to the masses is the easy way out, and probably hides some hidden defect. It's not up to the standards we have come to associate with MSI.

Normally, I love MSI parts and their awesome designs.

    I don't like it.

OK, if it's free, or close to it, I like it.
