Default Need Help.... Roll back to release Bios.... Z9PE-D8-WS

I think this is a purely asus thing.....

I need to learn the trick to going from 0503 back to 0311 BIOS.

Both are prior to CAP Bios so I figured it would be straightforward but no..... EZ-Updater wont play and bupdater is "unable to open" the selected file

This is to add another cruncher using ES cpu's

Take note: I have long been very wary of bios updating so little to no experience

    Any relief yet?

Try renaming the old BIOS file to a number higher than the one that you have installed.
Internal edit of the BIOS description text within is another way that I have used in the past.

BTW: I may be full of it.

Well..... Rig is working Kind of... This has been a comedy of errors

First off it ran with a single retail e5-2603 and when I saw high temps reported in bios I ignored thinking that is was just a sensors thing. However when I removed the heatsinks I bought, the pre installed paste was not "squished". Of course I saw it but did nothing so when installing the pair of 8 cores it would not complete a boot up sequence. Acting on this I added liquid paste, re-built and tried again.... better but still no banana. disassemble again and saw small round paste footprint on cooler/cpu.

Inspection of the coolers resulted in removing the circlips attached to the retaining screws then re-building and voila It does boot with these cpu's fitted on this bios and runs cool enough too. added Linux mnt etc but when checking saw only one cpu running. back to bios and the second cpu is not seen there either.

I may have the mounting too tight but that is enough of this for today ....need coffee, unwind then bed for me.
