Back up your crucial data and reinstall windows!

I have downloaded from CNET recently and got no malware, so something else may be up.

Is your computer on a network? is your connection WiFi?

    Is it secured?

Save your data and reload windows!
You should install your security software after the reload with fresh downloads, and then go online again.

I have the same problem. Got it probably from CPU-Z or some other small program I downloaded just after building my new machine last month. Because I just got through setting it up the way I want it, I want to avoid at all costs reinstalling windows and only will do that as a last resort. If anyone can help with figuring out aaway to remove scorpion saver I and evidently many others would be very appreciative.

Yes, sure have. Just tried hitman pro and it didn't find anything. I took the OPs path and also just sent two separate threatening emails to the company. Basically said i was going to go after their advertisers using the media if they didn't help me. The first one was similar to the above post and sent me a direct link to a .exe removal program that would automatically download. I didn't trust that so sent them another threat. The quickly sent a different email saying the following:

Forget about emails to the company, if they were a good company they would not have created this malware.

Follow the instructions in post #2, if after doing everything it says and still have a problem look at post #3 and do what that poster did. If you still have problems then follow Neil's suggestion and re-install Windows. I think if you follow Post 2 and 3 you should be ok.

apparently this is working for many

    Hi -

I don't have a question - I have a solution to a problem that I wanted to post so someone in my position could find the answer quickly without having to visit various websites that don't fix this specific problem, namely the malware Scorpion Saver.

I contracted this virus after downloading "free" software from cnet (Scan to PDF by Softi Scan). It's basically a pop-up from hell which will not leave your computer even after uninstalling and removing the registry keys.

Well, my last resort was to contact the very people at Scorpion Saver and they sent me a link to Microsoft's website to remove their software.

    "Hello,

If anyone can help with figuring out aaway to remove scorpion saver I and evidently many others would be very appreciative.
i jusr used ESET Free Online Scanner :: Complete Malware Detection :: ESET
eset online scanner apparently malwarebytes did the trick and it read no residual malware
but I liked it and gets great reviews
