I'm trying to set up something similar but for me it is 1 cable and 1 adsl and so far the key seems to be a dual wan router but I'm still checking.

If you are most of the part on the internet you will immediately know when the primary line goes offline, but the question to ask, why does the primary line go offline?

I have a wireless router connected to a switch which are connected to several computers. The only time when I go offline is when there is a problem with the ISP or with my telephone line and then the wireless won't be any help either but the network is still fine. If the network fails as well, then it might be a problem with the switch or if you are connected directly to the router, the problem might be at the router.
