Default Issue with my new Lappy from Santa

I got a new Toshiba Satellite L50D-A, along with new Lappy i got a new SSD, so pulled the HDD from it and put in he SSD, and installed W7, when trying to go to Toshiba's site to get the drivers needed, my Serial number and Product Number is invalid, so i am unable to find the drivers i need, I am running a A8-5545M with a 8050m "GPU" i am unable to locate Display drivers for it, also my USB 3 ports don't work, any suggestion's would BE AWESOME, i really don't want to have to put the other HDD back in and use 8.1

Ahhh.. good luck with that. I bought a toshiba laptop for a friend a year ago. Same problem, no CD driver installer. Everything needs to be downloaded from the site which is chaotic and unorganized IMHO.
Had to manually search for the right drivers elsewhere! Chipset from intel, LAN drivers from blah blah blah, this driver from that etc.. Or you could use that site RealNeil posted, hopefully everything is in there.

I always find this driver finder software stuff sketchy.. Makes you install something then next thing you know there are other programs running or makes you use something else as a default search engine in your browser... Last time I searched for drivers for a new toshiba laptop, I had to visit a lot of sites.. intel, realtek, atheros, and so on!! make sure you compile all the drivers and place them somewhere safe to avoid doing this all over again in the future. I like Toshiba laptops, they are tough IMHO but this whole driver download thing is not really appealing.. I'm glad my Lenovo laptop came with a CD driver installer.. it makes everything easy

An AMD chipset should install drivers using Catalyst?

Yep. I think AMD has an all-in-one driver installer for mobile GPUs.

I have no knowledge about a 8050m graphics. The display driver you'll always find on amd site . And most of the time win 7 would install all drivers. 8.1 would install all your drivers. With few arranges here and there, 8.1 is more than friendly. About toshiba site, the suport section is actually friendly. If you ever need to handle an old notebook with outdated drivers or missing ones from manufacturer, i would recommend you drivergenius. Happy New Year!

Do you have the media for 8.1? Without it you will not be able to use the recovery options. It says it does not have all the files and won't work with 8.0 files.

If you mean the case of having an updated 8 to 8.1 ( with installation media created with the manufacturer program, allowing ones to do that, or just using 8 features, you'll be able to restore only 8 ) you need to create another recovery partition drive.
