    Default From Bad to Worse

Well i restarted the new Lappy and it goes to start, and can't load Window's, and the utility can't fix the boot issue, i switched to the HDD that came with the Lappy (Win 8.1) and it can't find a bootable device, tried the SSD as a USB Bootable device, and nothing, restart and try to get into BIOS, tried F2,F12,Del, and Esc, nothing, any idea's??

have to call Toshiba on tomorrow to replace it, but would like some advice on what you guys think it might be.

I think you might be right Vinny, might be over after we get Penny her 1st hair cut, if so I will bring it with me, and the SSD, and no, can't get into the BIOS, just gives me the middle finger.

please said you made the recovery disc before you started this adventure. Windows 8 is finicky when you start messing with the drives. You need to run the recovery off the disc. The one that is built into windows is freaking useless. Not one time has it fixed an issue. If you dont have your disc you can use any windows 8 disc. Borrow one or hit the torrent lol

Nope Sandy, I didn't, cause Win 8 is on the HDD, have Win7 on the new SSD, so not real worried about it

Use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

Try entering the uefi interface and disabling "secure boot". I had the same problem with my laptop, they lock it down to any hardware changes. I guess to protect the licensing?

The option, if not in the interface itself, should be selectable when booting up, look for advance start-up options and there should be an option. Good luck!

I did have to do that already, cause when I 1st installed the SSD i put Linux on it, and when I tried to put Win7 on it, it said NO!, so already disabled it, but the problem was I was unable to get into the BIOS at all!

Shell, Win8 is on the factory HDD that came with the Lappy, using an SSD and didn’t feel like cloning it to the SSD, but I will keep that in mind if I ever switch over to 8.

Thanks guys for the help! As always POC comes through when help is needed, you guys ROCK!

Once we were able to get into the bios and change some stuff around so that ODD was set to 1st boot again, and just to play it safe we did a format, the accomplishment here was getting back into the BIOS, and of course not haveing to send it back to Toshiba

I was useless in this situation, but I'd love to help in the future!
