    Default Starting College, Need Notebook

Hey there everyone! I've been scarce on here for a while, but will hopefully be coming back. I'm starting college this fall (for sure this time lol) and wanted an opinion on two notebooks I'm interested in. I'm going for computer programming, but with that said, I don't want the bare minimum system. I plan to use the notebook for many many years. Here are two I've settled on, one customized a bit:

*The base specs of the Prostar are what I want*

    Prostar W355SSQ - $1216.49/no shipping/taxes.
Prostar W355SSQ Laptop – Prostar can Custom Built Clevo W355SSQ gaming laptop

    *Customized with i7-4700MQ*

Eurocom Shark 3 - $1337.00/shipping and taxes incl.
    Eurocom Configure Model

The reason I came to PureOC is because I trust this community's opinions and knowledge more than any other forum.

Now, I'm still open to suggestions, but make sure when pricing, you make it CAD!

Hi, good luck with the college and programming.
I took the liberty to modified a little your first option to this one:
Best Gaming Computer | Best Gaming Laptop | Cheap Gaming Laptop Computers | Gaming Notebook | Pro-Star.com,
there is not a big difference in the price of this one and your original configuration.

    Ok, thank you.

I'm really curious to find out everyone's opinions because I've never heard of these companies. I've done my research and know the history of Clevo now, but in terms of quality and longevity, a serious opinion would be highly appreciated.

I personally like the 2nd model. However do whatever you can to NOT have 1600mhz memory. 1866 is the min. Faster is better even if you have to get a little less. 8GB min. 16Gb is Better. SSD or Hybrid drive as boot drive. Your set.

Alright, I'll definitely make sure to get 1866. Say I did get 1600.. what am I sacrificing?

Bandwidth. That snappiness when you go to open something. Will help your compiling go smoother. If you do decide to play a game on the GTX 860 you will get a better experience.

Remember your CPU is fed by the Memory you select. If the memory cant feed it data fast enough it will be sitting there waiting. Wasting clock cycles. FEED IT DAMN YOU! FEED IT!!
