Unhappy Ack..My Laptop is Down!! Help!

Ok I have a crisis on my hands! I am at work here at the moment so i am online from my work station computer. Here's the history: I was surfing the internet last night at work of course... haha. I was searching for funny christmas clips when i hit a website then suddenly all sorts of boxes popped up and said malware this and that... i quickly closed my web browser and had my norton antivirus run a check. I re-opened the browser and my computer was running just fine. I usually just let it hibernate rather than power it all the way off, but last morning i powered it down. Now when i get back to work tonight i found i can't get it to power back on! I have the charger cord attached, and yes plugged it into a live outlet! The light on the side of the thing is lit where it is plugged in but the cord itself is loose, however i can't get it to turn on! I did trip over my power cord a few days ago but the computer had been running fine which may have led to the cord being loose. OK.. I am dumb.. I have no idea what to do at this point other than to call HP in the morning when i get home... any other ideas?

I am going to pop in the other battery i have when i get home to see if that is the problem. Maybe i wrecked the charger cord and killed the current battery, i don't know. If that's the case then i will have to send my poor baby to the HP doctor for some work.

It's an HP HDX-18 laptop if that helps.

    Default laptop update

Well i just got off the phone with HP and they seem to think something happened to my motherboard. Holy crow! So they are fed-ex'ing me a shipper box and should be here tomorrow. I should have my baby back by next weekend the guy said at the latest so i am on the rigg for the rest of this and next week..sigh. Oh well. They had me gut my laptop twice over the last hour an a half... would seem i pulled a "Beaker!" hahahaha... was truly a funny sight! Little Vampy is exhausted! I worked over night and am still up fussing over this! Oh well...

    Default Fed-Ex

Well I sent out my little baby to the HP doctor today via Fed-Ex! That really sucks. Oh well! Hey one thing really cool happened though.. I gave PureOC some free PR to the HP service Tech center..and for all our northern friends... the center i spoke to was based in Toronto! hahahaaha... i was quite amused at the irony... Told the service tech guy about this site during the course of the conversation, and i believe he said he'd check us out as i know he wrote it down! You know what they say about word of mouth advertisement!

My wifes HP laptop wide screen just bit the dust for the second time(2 years old and wont power up from hybernation.....hmmm sounds familiar). Dont hold your breath on having a sustainable, stable laptop when its gets back from the butchers shop!!!

    Default Time Warp

Yeah i know me too. I wasn't expecting it back until at least saturday myself. But then i was pretty hot under the collar when i spoke to the HP guys sunday. They may have expedited the repair. I am just so happy and relieved that my hard drives were spared and didn't have to be reformatted. The invoice that came back with my laptop showed i have a new motherboard and when i looked at the power connector on the side i could see the difference...i had indeed busted up the original internal connector because there is a piece inside it now that accepts wth plug that i didn't see before when i shipped it out. Oh and i still can't locate my USB hard drive, but i havn't looked for it that hard on account of working, etc... it'll turn up though.
