    Default Any Laptop Cooling Suggestions?

    Would anyone have any suggestions for a good quality cooling fan or something for under my laptop when i am working with it? It just seems to run very warm especially when it is actually in my lap! I don't mind warmth, but this is a bit much!

    Well maybe then a recommendation of which one's are more durable than others? It's gonna have to talerate being banged around somewhat. Main thing is improving airflow though.

    Also Coolermaster has some nice notebook coolers.I would go with a 230 fan than multiple smaller ones for less noise.Indeed there is no much of a difference in performance from one to another just choose what you like prefferable with one big fan.

    Default Does Size Matter?

    Wheelsdeal....I looked at all the links you put up for me.. THANK YOU!!!! The Thermaltake Massive23 cooler looked nice especially with the blue light as it reminded me of my old girl big rigg... Single fan better than multi-fan setup..got it. However.. I am concerned about portability/weight and size. My Laptop is quite wide..17 1/4 inches. Also, The cooling plate needs to be light weight as i take my laptop EVERYWHERE! Learned a cruel lesson a couple months ago why password encripting and backing up valued info is good common sense in a separation and otherwise. So.. the plate also needs to be readily portable. USB port access for power isn't a problem.. my laptop has 4 USB ports.

    I use one of these for a Dell 17" and I know it works happily with a Vaio 18" and have been very impressed with it, so much so that I just don't like using the laptop without it;

    I was always skeptical about laptop coolers but this leaves the base literally cool, even on its quietest setting. As long as you have airflow to the fans, you can use it easily on a duvet too

    Well since most of my computer time is spent sitting on my bed or in front of the TV these days anyway..that could be a very good thing that it tolerates fabric underneath it. My Laptop has dual hard drives, but right now i can tell which one is in active use just by the amount of heat it is kicking out! I'll have to look at this one further!:cool: And it is light weight too?

    I have a 17 inch Macbook Pro that I been playing MW2 on and it was getting a little warm and since the Macbooks are a solid piece of aluminum I just set mine on an ice pack lol. Worked for the time I was playing. haha.

    Unfortunately I have all sorts of cooling vents under my laptop and so ice packs might not be so good. Thank you for the suggestion though. :cool:

    Yea most likely not . If you are looking for something that doesn't cost a lot here is a laptop cooler that is $4 dollars, with a $4 dollar rebate. Yea so its 0 dollars, plus 7 for shipping, haha.

    I'm suggest Cooler Master Note Pal Infinite. Cooler master had a good history in cooling solution. You should try this.

    Speaking of Cooler Master's laptop/notebook cooling solutions, I understand they are releasing a new product which should be one hell of a nice cooler.

    Maybe Doctor Death will be able to get a review sample for us to look at. Stay Tuned.

    Cool

    My suggestion is to go for quality on this one. The Zalman Ultra-Quiet Notebook Cooler may be a bit expensive than the others but its durability and reduced noise will save you from frustration, buying another one in less than a year, or unecessary trips back to the store.

    I bought the Zalman cooler for my Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q892. It is a huge laptop and barely fits on the Zalman...I think any other laptop would fit it easily. It has proven to be very quiet even with the fans on maximum and seems to be a quality product.
