Default AMD Radeon branded RAM coming soon

It looks like AMD has decided to branch into yet another system component: RAM. They’ll be using the familiar Radeon branding and will split the brand into three editions:

The Entertainment Edition (DDR3-1333) targets low-cost entry level systems, Performance Edition (DDR3-1333/1600) targets gaming- and multimedia-oriented mainstream systems, and Radeon Edition (DDR3-1866) targets do-it-all enthusiast systems. All of the RAM will be available in 2, 4, and 8GB capacities. Heatsinks are included on the Radeon Edition and optional on the other two lines.

A lot of people saw this coming months ago, as long as the AMD memory kits work great with their new line of chips, that's all that should really matter.
I'll try getting a 8GB 1600 or 1866MHz kit for Pure OC to review.

Those may be the heatspreders on Entertainment modules. Performance would most likely be taller but then again little guys like little things. Big things scare them. Looks like from the photo they are scaled differently.

useless things scare me. performance ddr3 doesnt require tall heat spreaders or any heat spreader for that matter its more a visual sales gimic than a necessity.

Most of the pretty crap that they put on mainboards is useless these days. Heatsinks that look like GUN Parts? Really??

To me, ~function~ is pretty. It's gorgeous! Usability is KING. I could care less what it all looks like as long as it works well.

I will support AMD with there ideas and innovations they bring to the market. All company's in the market today have products that fail but in my opinion thats
how they learn and grow to produce a better product for the end user. AMD has designed a product thats ahead of its time now. As long as AMD can provide
support and good customer service to the consumer that's all one can ask for. Research is the main thing one needs to do before purchasing a product, As from
some reviews I've read on several products people purchase something expecting it for a task it was not designed for as in the fx series cpu's "multi-threaded application"
I have 2 Intel ssd drives 80 gb that one has failed at 3 to 3.5 months but am glad Intel has provided a product to compete with other ssd manf to keep prices realistic.

Yes, Me too. They are necessary, even if some don't realize it.
FX may not have turned out so well for AMD so far, but their mid-level APU's are selling well and their DX-11 graphics are a lot better than onboard Intel graphics are.
I guess it's good and bad for ~every company~ in such a competitive environment.
