Thumbs down rig doesnt recognise extra ram?

    Helloooo

I know its a noobie question but i recently upgraded my ram to 4 x 1gb sticks of ocz platinum ddr2 800mhz, all the same speed rating etc, except my system doesn't recognise the extra ram.
my motherboard is an asrock am2nf3-vsta with a max capacity of 8gb ram and chip am2 4800........

i know theres fixes available on microsoft's website, but it gives a list of possible reasons and specific fixes. I just need some guidance if any of you experts can help i would be eternally grateful.

    ty in advance

No, 32bit can see up to 4GB. Turn off your paging files and put the PAE switch in to your boot.ini file.

XP still only shows around 3GB, even with PAE on, it really is best to move to a 64 bit OS for this.
