Default Memory speed 1600 MHz--------- 533 MHz??

I have Corsair Dominator 24 GB 1600 MHz PC3-12800 240-Pin DDR3 Memory Installed in my system but when I look at my system specs it says that it is only running at 533 MHz. How do I get it to run at the full 1600 MHz

Go into the bios and choose the DRAM multi that will get you closest to 1600 or depending on your bios you may just choose the speed. Also remember if your using CPU-Z you have to multiply the DRAM frequency it displays by 2 in order to get the true frequency.

Look in your BIOS for a feature called XMP (Intel Extreme Memory Profile) Profile. You want to enable the XMP profile for your RAM. Then it will Automagically be set with all of the proper timings and at the proper speed.
    Hopefully, you have that feature.

XMP is one of the better ideas to come along in recent years. Each manufacturer programs their own ~best performance~ timings (at rated speed) into each stick of RAM that they sell and it's there, just waiting to be switched on by the user. It's easy to do.

To me best way to do it is go (Manual), And set your (Exact) ram specs and voltages for it.

Then your locked as to voltage increases.

Can always play with the modding of them later if go that way.

I only suggested XMP because it's fast and it works every time. (unless other problems exist on your PC already)

Doesn't it run at lower speeds when not required? Then ramps up speeds when necessary?

I have had problems like this, in the info pane for the ram frequency in my bios it says 1066 is the max for a locked cpu but after messing with it for awhile it worked at 1600.

Take every stick of RAM out and reinstall it all, just to sure that it's properly seated.

You have all of your memory slots filled I presume.
Try to just fill three of the slots and see if it works at proper speed like that.
If it does, you'll probably have to bump the memory voltage up by a few increments to provide the power needed for all of your memory sticks in the system.

If you have a good camera, shoot a few clear pictures of the board and components and post them.
A picture says a thousand words and it may provide us with clues we would not know about otherwise.
