It might working but also you might don't get 100% performance.
I perfer a matching ram if they are dual channel. I like to be safe rather than sorry.

I've bad experienced with mix match ram, had sampe speed/voltage but if they are different in CAS .
The system will crash then you will have a corrupted OS.

should be fine, just will only be able to overclock the memory as far as the slowest stick(s).

well theres good news and bad news.....

the good news is that i checked the specs on my existing ram, its the same as the ones im ordering, the ones i ordered are just in a 1 gig module and not two 512's.

Bad news is i thought my cas latency on the existing ram was 2.5 but in CPUz shows it as 3,

But i think its going to turn out good anyway, but i forgot how to overclock my ram :$..oops
    What?

oh god...oh god...OH GOD let me share what ive gone through today....

First after i put my ram in, it didn't post, so i took it out and put in in the other slot. Then it still didn't post so i took it out again and went into my BIOS and set everything to no overclock, and reinserted my ram, IT POSTED! but after that i got a lovely screen that said windows was corrupted.....
THEN i started to install my copy of windows vista RC1 so i can recover stuff on my Hard drive that was "corrupted" and i got halfway through the install when i got a BSOD, So i took the ram out and tried to resume the install, kept getting BSOD.....then i put the ram back in and tried to get into BIOS to see whats going on.
Then it RANDOMLY because uncorrupted and booted up into windows, but my mouse didn't work, and i managed to get into CPUz to see about the memory and i got a GREAT site of seeing my CPU running at 1.001 GHz. so i restarted, Then i went through about a hour of more "corruptions" and just failures to post.
Finally i wanted to see if it was just the ram that was crapping up my computer, so i took all the ram out and tried 1 at a time to see if it boots up, they all worked. So i started inserting 1 at a time, and i finally found a pattern that worked, and at this time i was pretty mad at the whole situation so i hanked my hand out the computer....all of it didn't come out the case, I'm not exactly sure WHERE in the case it is, all i know is that its not on my hand
But now it works but i only have it clocked at 2.2 Ghz, so that was my day.....
At least the package arrived on time
    What?

go back to your old memory only and see if things behave as usual. it sounds like maybe the mobo is dying, a very similar story to what happened to my dfi 975x a few months ago, i really thought it was the memory but it wasn't, and all the problems started days after installing 4x1gb dimms.
