Default Hyper X Genesis RAM O/C specs

Good day everybody, An employee of mine gave me some RAM he had no use for, its 32GB 8x4 Hyper X Genesis 1600Mhz. Has anybody overclocked this particular RAM??? If so, what specs did you use?? I have never O/C'd RAM before and i'm interested in learning/experimenting with this set since it was free. i'm going to try it in my A10-6800k rig and see what i can get out of it while still being stable enough for a daily user desktop. Any thoughts/specs/tips/tricks/pitfalls, please fire away!!! (not literally lol)

TBH with ya i wouldnt start trying to overclock ram using that particular kit, its not the brand but size (8GB Sticks). If you want get into overclocking ram i would start with 2x4GB or even better just 1 4GB stick. Also you wont be able to overclock them using all 4 sticks, its tougher on the memory controller. Being on an AMD as well wont help any, i believe 1866 is the highest. If im wrong someone please correct me.

I know very little about anything to do with AMD and overclocking so i cant help ya there. TBH your HyperX Red will OC much better than this assuming it will OC though. I dont have much time left before i have to leave for work so hopefully someone else will jump in here, if not ill be back after work.

Using 4 sticks does make it harder to oc. I found that out the hard way. If you want to try to OC start with 2 sticks. Use the Timings on the package to make sure it is stable. Then slowly start moving them up. Don't move the bus speed or HT until you have to. Same with voltage. You can get a decent OC but don't expect to get to 1866. You might be able to get close to 1800 without overvolting. Faster memory helps those apus more then just having more memory. So if you have 16gb at 2133 it will be better then 32gb at 1600.

@ James, i think i confused ya on the RAM, i have 8 4GB sticks.
Thanks everybody, i'm just starting out in the world of O/C'ing (about 6 months now) so please bear with me, i may ask some silly questions.
I'm going to try it with 2 sticks first just to get farmiliar with the process. The current timings are 9-9-9-27 1.65v So do i raise all four timing values at the same time and amount??
