i have a bit older memory, namely ocz xtc platinum ocz3p1600lv2g.
    the amount is 3x2 gb.
now comes my quastion, according to cpu-z is the max bandwith pc3-8500f (533mhz), and running at 1.50v that would by 1066 and thats what it runs on now, because i set it in the bios like that.
but it has to be max voltage 1.65 and acording the specs 1600mhz.

so WHAT mem do i have and what is the true speed of this memory.

You need to manually set the timings and voltage in the bios to get your memory to run at the correct speed. Change timings to 7-7-7-24 at 1.65v for 1600mhz. If it runs correctly you can also try 7-7-7-19 at 1.65v

I already answered that when i gave you the timings and voltage. You know it as well when you gave us the PN. Its 1600mhz memory. You have been running it down clocked to the default settings. 1066.

It's probably DDR3-1600 that is being down-clocked by the motherboard's standard settings. (this is not an uncommon occurrence) That's why you have to manually set the timings and voltage.

I am not sure what you are looking for. It is 1600mhz but the board defaults to a slower speed. This is normal. You have to go change the settings to get it to work at 1600mhz. This is also normal. I have memory that runs at 2400mhz but only if I go and change it to run that high. If not it will run at 1866.

Your picture shows the part number clearly. It is 1600MHz RAM. That's what you have.

It also shows it being under clocked for a dual channel system. But isn't your system a triple channel system?
When you multiply your 533MHz speed times three, you get 1599MHz and that is right on target.

Don't mess with it, it's fine.

When you multiply your 533MHz speed times three, you get 1599MHz and that is right on target.

Don't mess with it, it's fine.

nice catch Neil! Wasnt even thinking about Triple Channel.
