Have you changed the memory multiplier from within BIOS?

    DRAM Frequency control? DRAM Divider?

    hi Paul

Looks like you are on the wrong memory dividers i7-920 4ghz would most likely be 200 bclk and on a 2:8 multiplier that should be exactly 1600mhz which is the exact speed yr Ram needs

Like Deton mentioned fill out yr system specs in UserCP and enable it

hey cool i have a ex58-ud5 as well!! as for memory heres what ive learned.....
    1. dram has a magical sweetspot of 1.64 and works for all clock speeds of 4.0 - 4.35 and memory of 1500 - 1740. 1.64 always works and being higher doesnt make any difference.

    2. 1740 seems to be my max for my 1600 corsair ram at 3 gigs.

    3. do you keep qpivtt and vcore the same or close cuz you should.

    4. ive had some success with increasing tras one notch or two to 25 and 26 heres a great link that explains everything....

    http://www.overclock.net/faqs/26706-...s-dummies.html

ps. tweaking cpupll doesnt make any difference and having it on auto is just fine i think

default spec range is 1.65-1.89 and i think up to 1.9 is considered fairly reasonable, i wont want to get pass 1.9v though

Hi Paul Welcome to Pure OC !

At 4GHz what kind of temps are you getting with the CM V8 ? use Real Temp or Core Temp take a screen shot and post it for us. Your processor could be getter to hot while running prime, due to not being mounted correctly, or to little or to much thermal paste.

Bully, I'm not to sure about the memory voltage 1.65 is safe I have seen 1.7 with extreme cooling, with triple channel, but never past that without risk of major damage. Can you you honestly tell me that you have run 1.89 and 1.9v on your triple channel memory ? Even Intel says do not go past 1.65v

Dr D. 1.65-1.89 refers to CPU PLL not Ram Voltages

Can you google around for the Gigabyte template and fill out your settings accordingly and post it here for us to take a look and we can help you with the overclock.
