in terms of real world performance not much difference again, i've seen report from of test between triple channel 3gb vs triple channel 6gb. No real world performance gains

    thanks bud for the input....
just to clarify, are you talking about just the difference btw 3 and 6 gigs of ram or you including the difference between a 32 and a 64 bit system?

Jay, go with Window 7 64 bit for free, and your 6Gbs , the good part is that you will have use of all 6GBs. With a 32bit OS you will not be able to use 6GBs. This way you get to try it for free, and make up your own mind. Your system will see a performance gain, from the extra memory, but not for overclocking.

Yeah, you can run 64-bit with 3GB of ram, it's just that it isn't as fast as say, 4GB would be. You can run it, it's just not really utilizing the possibilities of 64-bit OSes.

I got Windows 7 Professional through my school (part of the academic alliance with Microsoft). So far, I am really pleased with it. boots up quickly and I haven't had any problems save a compatibility issue with AVG.

As long as the voltages on your RAM is the same (1.65V approx.), you can put different speeds of memory in your computer, but your higher clocked ram will be downclocked to the lower one. E.g. 3GB of 1600MHz DDR3 will only run at 1333MHz if your other 3GB are 1333MHz DDR3.

Email me your address, I'll send you the Windows 7 Ultimate CD I burned 4 months ago, and the key code. I bought 4 copies which should be here any day now, so I do not mind sending this to you, I'll have to look for it later this evening.

Yes, you will notice a difference in in your systems performance when you go from 3-6 Gigs, but once again, not in overclocking, but in overall system performance. Your in Luck! I just found the Windows 7 Ultimate CD. Email me with your new address, I'll include the key code on a piece of paper taped to the case

Jay, make sure you update this once you have it installed, there's going to be a lot of missing updates. Also, make sure that you download Microsoft's Security Essentials, which is a free Virus and Spyware program.

    Stan
