My son has a 24" ASUS something.. trying to get him SOMETHING else for xmas. I thought maybe a 27" monitor.
I think its an i3 (or is it an i5?? lol), 8GB ram, HD 6870 gpu (I have a second if he ever needs to add a boost)
He mainly plays LoL and Minecraft... but cant rule out higher paced games like BF4 (or even D3)
But I have no clue whats good? Just something I havent really looked into in a loong time
keep in mind $250 or less and i need to be able to get it quick! lol like B&H has free expedited shipping which would be 2 days to me.
Thanks friends!

Why not try to find 2 24" monitors on the cheap. Craigslist! Or check the refurb and open box sections on Newegg. Sometimes they have killer deals.

Acer G6 Series G276HLGbd Black 27" 6ms Widescreen LED Backlight Slim Bezel Monitor 300 cd/m2 3000:1 - Newegg.com
This monitor is great, I have it and since he's running a 6870, the 1920x1080 res will be much easier on his GPU. Also with the $20 promo code, it's $180 brand new. Great monitor.

Here is a deal on a 27" ASUS IPS screen. Yeah,.......IPS!
IPS is far and away much better than TN-LCD screens. (viewing angles and quality of the picture)
Even though it's refurbished, it's a killer deal at $209.00. (normally $350.00)

If you want something with higher resolution, I have 2x of these on one of my systems.
Qnix QX2710 LED Evolution II Multi TRUE10 SE 27" 2560x1440 QHD DVI HDMI Monitor | eBay
Its 2560x1440P. Great screens.
I purchased from the same seller on eBay and both came with no Backlight bleed or dead pixels.
It also came in like 3 days direct for Korea!
I have them OC to 85Hz with little work.
The only downfall about these screens is the base. I didn't really like the base on them since its not height adjustable (like my Dell U2410). I ended up getting some Ergotron base and use those instead.
That is if you want something with higher resolution.
