    Default 42" lcd questions

    hi

i have a Toshiba Regza 42WLG66 lcd tv, i bought a dvi - hdmi cable, the tv is as far i understand 1080i. the lcd im using now is a 27" 720p connected through dvi to dvi running at 1280x768(1280x720 is a bit blurry)

question is when i plug the pc into the 42" and choose hd mode 1080i50 through nvidia hd type tab all is fine, but in the resolution tab it says the refresh rate is 25.
    ive got options to choose.
    25
    29
    30
    50
    55
    60
(im at work cant quite remember if they are correct)

if i choose any other than the 25 the screen goes black and doesnt seem to work then switches back to 25.

now will this affect running games, watching HD movies and HD TV encoded in X264?
ive been told lcd's dont really have a refresh rate as such is this true?
and very last what should the refresh rate be? 50? 60? or will thw 25 im stuck at do the job?

thanx for any help in advance

The problem you are having is likely caused by a poor connection of the connection to the LCD screen. Unless you have some experience repairing electronics I would suggest that you call to have the TV serviced. A repair attempted by someone without the knowledge and equipment needed to do the repair can often cost more in the long run. Many shops will charge more to correct someone's mistakes. Should you require further clarification, never hesitate to ask. It would be my pleasure to clarify my answer to your question. If after reviewing the above information, you have additional questions, I will be glad to answer them. My goal is your 100% satisfaction with all questions I answer.
