    Default Samsung SyncMaster T240

    Hi all,

I stumbled across an excellent review for this monitor on here earlier today - http://www.pureoverclock.com/review.php?id=773 - and as a result I'll probably order it in the next 24 hours.

However I just wondered if there's any of you that own this monitor and can give me a second opinion?

    Cheers for the reply.

Looks nice indeed but I'm not sure whether to go for 1920*1080 like the LG you suggested or stick with 1920*1200 like the Sammy?!?

16:9 is newer and will probably replace 16:10. most games support 16:9 but there are some exceptions. crysis only supports 16:9 and 3d mark requires 16:10 to bench using the extreme preset. one advantage of 16:9 is that it allows you to use it with, say a ps3 and have native support for it. i personally like 16:9 as it is more future proof but it doesn't matter much and depends more on personal preference. 16:9 monitors look better in my opinion.

Griff, I bought the Samsung T240HD in Solihull, PC World. It's also a freeview TV. I found 19 channels on a scan just connecting to the house antennae. I run it at 1920 x 1200 for its main use as a monitor. Can't fault it. Superb dynamic contrast which has to be at an extreme angle before it fades. No backlight bleeding & not one dead pixel. Something for u to consider in your search. Good luck.

Just googled it & its not much more than the T240 which is the monitor only.
