Default Samsung 226BW 22 inch WS

I really like the looks of this screen, and its a decent price at about 260, i'm waiting for some reviews, but if there good, i am gonna get one of these babies

    http://www.samsung.com/Products/Moni...2MEWSFVXAA.asp

    Specs:
    22 inch screen
    160 deg viewing angle
    2ms response time
    1000:1 contrast ratio
    D-sub connection
    DVI-D connection

one non-english review checked for backlighting issues on this screen with the 3000:1 contrast ration option off and it was the darkest most even panel i've ever seen.

    reviews:
    http://www.google.com/translate?u=ht...&hl=en&ie=UTF8

and then brigtness tests and backlight bleed test against ten other high performance models, beats them all by far.

I have this monitor's little brother, the 19" 940BW and I'm very pleased with it. All the medium-sized Samsung monitors have a fancy stand that let's them pivot a fair way in either direction and are top-notch. No dead pixels and some nifty optimisation features.

    Buy it man!

i think this screen and the 206BW are the only new screens from samsung, is the one your reffering to not an older model?

I don't think the 226BW has any nifty adjustable stand from what i've heard, i dont think you can even move it up or down let alone pivot lol.

oh and i forgot to mention, this screen may not have 1:1 pixel mapping which might be a downer if you need it.

Wow, Id love a flat panel monitor, I still have an IBM G97 19" CRT. It does its job very well though and I don't have the M/S wait times, instead I have the refresh rate.

    800*600 160Hz Min Resolution
    1600*1200 75Hz Maximum Resolution
    1280*1024 85Hz Flicker Free Recommended

The only advantage of a CRT I presume is that you can change the resolutions to your liking, this monitor supports hundreds of them. Ill get a screen shot, there has to be easily 100 different settings.

just a little. One of the few times something has took the the full 7 buisness days to get here, but also have been so busy using it, and doing other stuff.

I've had it for about a week now, and this is a really awesome monitor! Two connectors in the back, VGA and DVI. The first time I turned it on I to tell it to use the digital signal, and now when I turn it and the comp off, it finds the right signal automatically now. The monitors menu system lets you pick auto or manual, so eventually, i might try using it with my other older comp, so i can switch back and forth without a KVM box killing the picture quality. Grab a screwdriver, cause the base screws on, but it does have an ability to swivel. It also has tilt asjustment, so you can recline/slouch and still have no problems. I haven't noticed any ghosting yet, and may i say FEAR and Farcry sure do look great in its max resolution. I haven't noticed any problems with light bleeding either. Overall, i'm very satisfied with this thing, from using CRT's. I'd used a dual 17" CRT setup before, and im not missing anything using this giant monster. Will post piccies when i get outta work (I even cleaned my desk off to make it look nice), but i doubt they will do justice. without flash i cant get a sharp ehough picture, but with flash it washes out the screen.

Oh yeah, i got it for $379.99 USD from Circuit City, which apparently is only 200 GBP today, so I guess i guess i got a pretty good deal this side of the ocean.
