I can't speak for everyone but all my PC buddies plan to upgrade either their CPU or GPU for this game. I'm willing to bet majority of FPSs fans will as well. I even bought a 580 for this and trying to get another for smooth ultra setting frame rates.

This game is moving a lot of hardware upgrades like Crysis. The new benchmark is BF3.

No love for Deus Ex? :/

I agree BF3 (and other new titles) are going to drive the enthusiast product range higher and higher. No contest there.

I would argue though, that you (and me and everyone else on PureOC) are not representative of the average gamer. We are enthusiasts. We ain't normal, Vern. The upgraders in our slice of the pie will be of a far greater number. But it's still a ratio in proportion to our slice of the pie, which isn't that large.

Waiting for the price to drop on this.. it being a console port soured my mood. I know the story is still excellent though(from what I've heard), so I still plan to get it. Elder Scrolls 5 is a console port too.. so its not all about that. I honestly don't know much about the game.

According to Steam I've logged 229 hours on DX:HR. I admit it's starting to get boring. That's also my gripe with DLC: By the time it is released I'm done with the title.

I'll play it first. And then, if it grabs me, really grabs me, I'll upgrade my main system until it plays well enough that I can enjoy it. I'll be trying the open Beta out first,....tomorrow I think?

I have a hard time imagining those numbers are for the common "gamer" Seems like a little bit of a stretch for me to see it being that hardcore. I'm usually wrong though.
