    Default Jameson's framerate-increasing CS:S configuration

I've downloaded the file and placed it in the correct directory... I don't see it taking effect though. I changed my launch options to -dxlevel 90, -heapsize whatever, etc. but am I missing something? I really want a better framerate than 6 frames per second.

    Thanks!

The problem lies squarely with your graphics card. Pretty much nothing you try will give you any kind of increase worth having i'm afraid, you really need something better for gaming, it's just too outdated.

Im new to forums and I dont know if I am out of place replying to this but your computer is not going to handle current games. Older games may work or a new system, unfortunately are likely to be your only options

Why would you be out of place? thats what forums are for mate
and yer, your right, that system isnt gona play modern games, especially not with all the pysics involved. The main problems are that graphics card and how slow that RAM is. I never buy less than 500mhz RAM and many people wont settle for that because you can get it much faster.

Hey thanks and yes I have learned my lesson with RAM and videocards. If you want to play you have to pay at least with those particular items. CPU, psu and mobo are some other expenses with system builds that can cause regrets if inferior products are purchased.

yer, also as someone recently said (i forget who), source loves cpu speed. you can normally get away with having a half decent cpu and dedicated graphics and sound in most other games, but source tends to want it all. for the psu you've just got to make sure it covers your build, and any likely future upgrades. theres no point getting a 700w psu if your going to have integrated (sp) sound and video, you just don't need all that power.

    p.s your welcome :P

True, but I guess when I said psu I wasn't necessarily specifying wattage but more quality and stabilty. I know my last psu was crap and gave me alot of grief.
