Default Update on the Dead Island copy I won :)

    Hey lads!
So I couldn't help buy give you all an update
As some of you might remember, I won Dead Island in James' Game Giveaway, and I couldn't play it as my pc wouldn't run it.
I asked my parents if I could play on their laptop (I sought this one out for them. Was a nice deal. €600 with an Ivy Bridge i5 and a 740m), and I assured them I didn't need to install anything on it (I have it on my external HDD). They didn't allow it... But... Today I was home alone, and it started itching a bit
I've had great fun the past few hours and here are some screenshots!

All the screenshots I made can be found here: Dead Island! - Imgur
I haven't made a load of screenshots (well, still 30), because I really got into the game. I didn't even think about making screenshots!
It's a fun game and the beginning was pretty horrifying!
Thanks James and PureOC! I've really enjoyed playing this game so far and I love being a part of this community!
    See you all around!

Glad you got it worked out, now just don't get so sucked in that you forget to logout and erase the cache when they get home

    Erase the cache... F*ck...
Nah, they suck with computers, they wouldn't even know how to find it
And if they would: "Dead Island? What kind of spam is that?"

    The whole system
    It's an AMD Sempron 2400+ Single-Core OC'd @ 1'90GHz and a GeForce FX5200 128MB AGP GPU

    EDIT: @James
Yeah, I really love it! I'll try not to get in trouble
I just noticed out of the 30 steam friends I have, 9 have Dead Island
    Plenty of choice there

I can see why you may have some issues running newer games. Make sure you follow the rules on the giveaway and maybe you will get some cool prizes to upgrade!

For week 2 I've liked the regular Kingston and Primochill pages and shared the link to the thread
I hope I win something from Kingston, I could pretty much use all the prices. Especially the SSD and the RAM
I'm upgrading soon though. I'm thinking FX6300 /8320 with either a 660 Ti or 7950 (I'm selling my PS3, which go for about €200 on "marktplaats" (dutch eBay))

all the screen shots are very light, I seriously hope it doesn't look like that in the game.

I've put the gamma really high (I couldn't get that logo to be barely visible, and I then I just put it all the way up )
But it's a game on a tropical island, so it could just be the style of the game.
    It's darker when inside houses

    Oh yes it is
It's on sale on steam now. The Goty edition (with all the DLC. I think I have this too, but I can't find the DLC ) for like $5. It's €4,99 at least (75% off)!
We should have like a PureOC Dead Island LAN! One big skype conversation and multiple servers with 4 people!
It would be chaotic but brilliant I think
We could use hamachi for the servers, and someone with a good pc could host them

I might have to reinstall it to play again. Is the DLC on sale too?

    Yup, they're all -75%
I'll have to figure out my copy though, when I activated it, it said "GOTY edition"
Happy I printed the receipt out, I can show Valve if I don't get it sorted
