Default AMD Mantle causes washed out graphics in Battlefield 4

AMD and EA pushed the updates enabling Mantle API support on Battlefield 4 a few days ago after several long delays but it seems like they havenít got it right as yet. As ExtremeTech points out, Mantle update carries a small bug which causes greying and dullness in some graphic elements in the game. This bug mainly effects the sky boxes, long distance mountains and other background elements.

ExteremTech made use of the Golmud Highway map to demonstrate the issue. As you can see in the screenshot above, the faraway elements and especially the sky is a bit greyed out and slightly less saturated as compared to the other screenshot taken with DirectX enabled. This doesnít seem like a major glitch, just a post processing adjustment.

EA has already acknowledged the issue accepting that its a bug on their side and they are working on a fix as we speak. Itíll be probably be fixed in a future patch. And it is to be noted that this bug doesnt effect the performance of the game in any way.

I have a feeling there will be a big hoopla over every bug with BF4 and Mantle because of the level of hype they put into it. So if it isnt 100% right it must be a POS. lol It is a new technology and this is the first major implementation of it so I would expect bugs for the coming months. Oh well. I will finally DL the dang on game and install Mantle to see how it runs this weekend. I hope

Was having issues still earlier today but uninstalled the 14.1 drivers and ccc then ran driver sweeper. Reinstalled the drivers and it was working fine. Gonna try again when I get home to make sure it's still working.

As it turns out the cause of the Mantle problems with BF4 isn't AMD's fault: it's BF4's... BIG shocker there. I swear companies need to stop releasing titles in Beta form (Diablo 3, anyone?).

well like i said since going back to the 13.12 drivers the game has been smooth no problems other the usual no sound issue but that's a BF4 issue.
