Default Aces High Flight Sim Game

    http://www.hitechcreations.com/frindex.html

Aces High II is a flight sim game I have played for almost 4 years. It is a World War II flight sim that features multi-player arenas with hundreds of players in multiple arenas. There are a few WW II flight some games such as IL2 Stormovic, and Air Warriors but Aces High II features much better game play than both.

AH II gives players multiple choices of offense and defense in WW II. You may choose to pilot just about any plane or bomber that was available during the war. The planes have the same limitations as the real ones did. Japanese Zeros turn and corner on a dime and are not by any means fast where as the P51 Mustang is a very fast plane that corners good at higher speeds and does not reach best performance until it reaches the altitude it was designed to fly(high alt). Some fighter planes have bomb and rocket abilities as in WW II as a pilot can dive bomb a base or even a carrier group.

Those who prefer flying bombers will also love the game. Bomber formations are key to taking hangers and carrier groups down and feature B17's, B24's, B25's, Stuka's amd even the jet bomber 234's. The bombers have the option of "going to the guns" where the pilot can switch to gunner mode or have a bystander sit in the guns while he or she lines up on the particular target.

Aces High II also feature a ground vehicle category. Tanks include Panzers, Tigers, Shermans, M16's Wirblewinds and more including the M3 that carries troups to capture a base or supplies. Spawn camping is intensive and GV battles are a hoot.

Each map is segregated in 3 countries Rooks, Bishops and Knights. the user chooses his country and the game has an auto even feature. each plane and vehicle has a rating and if 1 country has too many players, the auto feature takes over that limits the planes and vehicles available until the numbers of the countries catch up.

The objective of the game is to capture bases. Bases are captures by killing both the ground ack and builings in a town at a base. When this is achieved, the attacking country must drop 10 uninjured troops via C47 or M3 at the town and they must make it to the map room without getting killed. The country that maintains 70 % of their bases and captures 40% of the other 2 countries bases wins the map. Maps can be won in a matter of hours or weeks depending on the team participation on each country. Some players do not care about winning a map rather the love diving into "Furballs" or participate in ground vehicle action at areas on each map refered to as fighter town. also, squads can be created with yourslef and friends to fly sorties together and use "wingman" tactics which is outstanding.

I would rate the graphics on the game as a "B". The game is neither CPU intensive or graphic intensive. This allows the average joe the capabilities of playing the game although they may not be able to run the hires pack or full antialias with their graphics catd. The minimal specs to play the game are:

    2000/XP/Vista/7
    1.8GHz Pentium 4
2Ghz Intel Core 2, or faster
Video CardDirectX 9 compatible with 64MB of RAM2
DirectX 9 compatible with 256MB of RAM Keyboard and Mouse3
Joystick but keyboard can be used with mouse
    Modem dial-up, Broadband land based4

    1) Depending on the configuration of the Vista/Windows 7 operating system it could be desirable to have a minimum of 1.5GB of RAM, and a recommended of 2GB of RAM in your computer.
    2) Generally speaking, many onboard video chips may not meet the hardware standards to operate the game. It is normally better to go with an AGP/PCI-E based video card as opposed to a built-in video chip.
    3) The game is generally easier and more fun to play when a joystick is available.
    4) Satellite connections to the game have latencies which make it difficult to do anything real time.

The game costs $14.95 a month to play with a 2 week free trial membership. There is 24/7 action inclusing a dueling arena and scenario arena. scenarios take place a few evenings a week with true scenario's re-enacted along with a weekly plane race and a stepping competition with 1 v 1 fights that ladder up to a winner.

If you are interested in giving Aces High a try, please contact me. We use Teamspeak 3 but the game does have a voice communication in it because when fighting you need to communicate with your countrymen.

It is multi, multi player. back in the day, some of these games were charged by the time you flew and some spent hundreds a month. th game is HUGE world wide as persons from all over the world are members. IL2 Stormavic has 1 fee but the new vwersion charges you for how many planes you buy. This game is addictive and worth every penny IMO.
