I did weeks of research before building my loop and most of the comments I saw were like yours, no issues at all. That's why I was quite surprised when this happened, and happened so quickly.

I was probably more surprised that Primochill made no effort to defend their product, simply saying using harsh chemicals like biocide voids your warranty. This is supposed to be their Holy Grail of tubing.

Thanks! I thought I'd try a subtle UV build without going over the top with neons and heaps of lights. I'm still not happy with it though and I've made a few changes since, I'll post an update once it's done

Might be possible, but I used demineralised water, so what actually is it?
Certainly looks like the right stuff to me. Biocide isnt really a hash chemical unless you put in way too much and screw up the PH of your water. More is not better. Were all of your parts brand new or had some been used in a loop before? I will reach out to Primochill myself to see if we can get you a better answers.

I used Mayhem Extreme Biocide (copper sulfate based, same as PT Nuke) and distilled water, after 3 months I had plasticizer issues (see pics, before and after 3 months).

When I contacted Primochill they told me that using biocide voids your warranty....basically too bad, so sad.[IMG][/IMG]

If you do plan to use Advanced LRT, either run a specific Primochill coolant or unicorn tears through your loop.

    Hey there!

I'm sorry that you ran into this issue with our tubing, can you please provide me with the ticket # which you submitted to our support system so we can further look into it?

All components were new when i bought them, and had been used for about 2 months with XSPC tubing before I replaced it with Advanced LRT. All componants were washed with hot soapy water, rinsed with tap water, then rinsed again with demineralised water before installing in the loop. I'm thinking either I got a bad batch, or something I did caused it.

    1) My loop capacity is about 1 liter, and I think I added 2-3 drops of biocide instead of the recommended 1 to a liter.

    2) My temps are sometimes higher than average. Living in Aus in summer the ambient temp gets to 40 degress c, and I've got my fans tuned for quit operation so they only reach 100% when I hit about 60 degrees. Idle temp is normally around 30 degrees though.

    3) Last thought is I've got a couple UV LEDs and cold cathodes (rarely on) which give a faint purple glow at night, whether the UV had anything to do with it?

Maybe a combination of all the above was a perfect storm?

    Hi,

I read that using 7/16 tubing on my PMP-500 Koolance pump could cause cavitation. Is this true with the Primoflex LRT Advanced? Should I go with another brand? The guy also recommended using 1/2 inch tube but considering I own 7/16 compression fittings could this be a problem?

    Thanks
