    Default SilverStone HDDBoost

SilverStone’s HDDBOOST is a unique product that combines the best qualities of traditional hard drive and solid state disk (SSD) into one virtual super storage solution. Depending on the speed of the SSD added, the HDDBOOST can increase the performance of an existing host hard drive considerably. It’s a bit of a niche product, but it certainly is innovative. Let’s take a look.

Nice job Kip, I'm not convinced that this is worth the money though to be honest.

    Good Job Kip!

Steve, there's a couple of members that own the HDD Boost that would disagree with you.

Would you ask them to share their experience with the rest of us?

I am with Steve a little expensive for what it does... Anyone that has the ability to install all this and make the connections could easily learn to format and then a Identical HDD or 2 of them to match what they have would build a raid 0 system that would probably be faster in the end and give them much more storage for the same price... Hi Joel

You need to remember that the HDDBoost is targeted at a very narrow audience. Those that do not want to reinstall their OS and all their programs.

I think when this concept was started by SilverStone that the SSD was in it's early stages and the cost for a decent size SSD was out there in dream land for most of us, except maybe Jake or Duffer. LOL

Bah hum bug, if someone goes out and gets an SSD dam right there going to put an OS on it. No one in there right mind would buy an SSD and one of these contraptions just not to use the SSD to its full potential. And if they did then they better stop sucking in those bike fumes its not healthy..........Kip LMFAO.
