We're looking at another SandForce SSD, but this one is very special as it's essentially two drives in one that feature a RAID 0 configuration. The name of this juggernaut is the OCZ Revo. Think a SandForce SSD is fast? Wait until you see what happens in a single card RAID 0 setup.

oooooohhhhhhhh.....me wana onebut still no TRIM support though
.
Jake, the comparison benchmarks should include the other SSD RAID 0 setup though. The obvious this Revo will blow the socket off any single SSD on the market at the moment.

We've only done one RAID 0 setup for SSD previously. The problem is that not all of the tests were conducted that we do now. There are only a few results, so I couldn't compare many at all. ATTO might be interesting though. I'll see if I can update the ATTO chart to show that RAID 0 result.
Thanks for the feedback!

Great review Jake! Man that thing is a bloody monster!!!!
Did u managed to get windows loaded on that creature and boot as an OS drive? what was the boot times like? 15 seconds?

Unfortunately I don't have any matching SandForce SSDs. We typically only get one sample per review, so I have nothing to RAID with. Sorry fellas.
Corsair did send us a RAID set of Samsung-based controller SSDs quite awhile ago though, and I do have a few benchmarks of those, I believe ATTO is one. I'll see if I can update the chart later today/tonight.
Now, if only SOMEONE could get TRIM to work with RAID........my life would be complete LOL.

great drive and review! those of you that are worried about it not having TRIM and it does not, TRIM returns NO speed on ANY sf drive its only for wear leveling.
Actually, the newest SSD drives from Western Digital utilize an internal TRIM that is OS-independent, and therefore it probably works in RAID.
I registered to post that to try and get that info out as I am a big WD user, a big RAID user, and I love new technology, and TRIM RAID support was a big deal for me, too.
EDIT: I want to point out that this particular method of TRIM still has some problems that will be revised with future firmware updates (or so I am led to believe).

what are the newest ssd's from wd? i have only seen ones ive seen have been out for a long time. do they have some newer ones? isnt internal "trim" garbage collection?
Yes, it is garbage collection, although we are still hoping for a firmware update and/or black edition that will improve its issues under heavy write scenarios. Thanks for allowing that clarification, I didn't mean to get hopes up too much, just stating that technically you can get that maintenance in RAID (albeit imperfectly until they get their act together...any day now).
P.S. There is also hope for Intel's theoretical TRIM in RAID solution which hopefully will at least push other vendors to be creative.
