    Default Fractal Design Define R3

The Fractal Design R3 is the latest flagship chassis from this Swedish company, building upon the R2 predecessor with some new features and tweaks. And as we've come to expect from the Swedes, they know minimalist design that usually exudes beautiful simplicity and clean lines. And the R3 is no exception, as we'll soon see.

Good review Kip! The Black Pearl looks great with the hardware installed, really nice case for the price seeing as it's sound proofed.

You nailed it Kip when you said it was a "classy case".

Very nice price for a nicely built case.

Well Steve, I am waiting for a special case to come in for review. When it does the next time you come to the big city I will give you the Black Pearl if you want it. Seriously.

    Hi everyone,

I would to know which one of the Fractal Design Define R3 or the Lian Li B25S is the quitest since both of them are silence oriented solution?

    Thank's!

    Welcome to the forum

The Lian Li is considerably more quiet, but then again, it is almost three times the price.

Default Ahah so which one? :)

Ahah ok guys your two answers are totally different^^!
So which one is REALLY the quietest?

In the Define R3 review, we can read that it is almost impossible to know if the PC is running or not, so is it the same thing with the Lian Li B25S?

    Thank you!! :]

Kip told me the same thing that the R3 was the quietest case he has ever tested, so after going back and reading the Lian Li review, I noticed that Kip said was that he found it to be one quiet case.

That being said, I have to stand by what my reviewer said in this review about the R3 being so quite that he did not know it was running. No matter how you look at this, for $100 your getting a good deal, it leaves you enough of money left over to add sound proofing if needed or change fans.

Thank's Doctor Death your right, the Define R3 has a better value than the B25S, considering the price difference between the two!

I reviewed both the Lian Li and the R3; they are both very quiet as I said in a post above. I still say that the R3 at under 100 bucks versus the Lian Li at 230 bucks, the R3 is the best bang for the money. They are both dam near silent, the Lian Li offers more quality in workmanship, the R3 will accommodate the longest video cards where the Lian Li is limited without doing some mod to the HDD cage.

So, each case has some nice advantages over the other so depending on budget, what components to install, will determine which case is right for individual needs.

Bottom line in my opinion is this is like comparing ford escort to a Cadillac
