    Default ASUS Rampage III Gene

As we've seen time and again, the ASUS Republic of Gamer lineup continues to offer powerhouse motherboards designed and marketed to those who wants some of the best performance, features, and quality on the market. It is indeed an exclusive club, but the Rampage III Gene is one of the best micro-ATX boards we've ever seen. Is it overkill? Sure it is. And that's part of its appeal to the enthusiast in all of us.

Default ASUS Rampage III Gene + zotac GTX 580

    Hi

Quick question, will the ASUS Rampage III Gene

fit a zotac GTX 580 (same size as gtx 480

    Code:
Height 4.376 inches (111 mm) Length 10.5 inches (267 mm)
cause the red sata 6gb port is right below the card (inside of mobo) and it looks very close to call.

I have those already, and just put card on slot without pushing it all way in,cause it looked too close on sata port.

Can any of you kind souls put my mind to rest?

    nice review...

I wll post my full config if this combo works....

    Apprecciated

If you worry about the vid touching the SATA ports, I don't think so. It's close but I don't thing you will have any problem.

Take a look at the review images, I know 6970s were used but I think 580 is the same length as 6970 but Skyguy will confirm on this.

The GTX 480 WILL fit onto the Gene, not to worry. It may touch the SATA port (barely) but that will not be a problem at all. The height of the card will indeed clear the port.

    You're good to go

Just in case, you'd like to check if your case would fit the 10.5 card as well

Yes indeed it looks tight but those cards are perhaps not as tall, but then again, is the paranoid in me, saying that.
