Default Archgon MD-9102 Portable Slimline DVD Drive

If you have a portable PC you will most likely need an external portable DVD±R drive at some point. There are a few of these portable drives being offered by some of the big name manufacturers but every once in a while a new-kid moves onto the block and wants to get into the game. The “new kid” on the block is Archgon, who has several products when it comes to Portable Optical Drives.

It's a rather tasteful looking drive. How do you pronounce the brand?

    Duffer is right; pronounced Arch-gon

The actual drive is made by Panasonic with a chip by Mat****a Corp.

This speaks volumes as to the quality of the drive; Panasonic brought us the first Blu-ray drive; so many of these slim-line drives are mere LiteOn clones which is not to say there is anything wrong with them but Archgon went the extra step and coupled with Panasonic to bring us a new product.
