Great review. Back a few years ago, I use to goof around with cd's and all the different brands on the market. Nice drive here. Now I just got this Asus laptop. One would think it would have an Asus optical drive. Lol, no, its a Panasonic (mat****a bd-mlt uj240as). <--- Part of that is a bad word on the forums.

Don't be to hard on the Panasonic slim drives they are really very solid performers and Panasonic is the main supplier of slim drives to all of the manufacturers.

The thing that (IMO) makes the ASUS drives top performers is the firmware which is done in house at ASUS.

Any way you can add the cost per disc when showing the burning results of the Blu-Ray discs? I'm interested to know if the quality of the burn is indicative of the price of the disc. Thanks.

I saw that after I posted the question. But he's using a bunch of different brands. Just wondering if higher price = better burn is all.

I have provided the Brand of the media and the MID Code so anyone who wants to compare prices can; the media will sell for different amounts by the geographical market you are in.

Most if no all of the Blu-ray media I used in this review was donated to me by a close friend who has a Media Outlet Store in Japan.

The other medias used in my Optical reviews has been donated by Rima.com.

Both of these outlets sell only high quality media and a good deal of what the sell you will not find at your local stores in town.
