Default ASUS GTX 550 Ti DirectCU TOP

One of the interesting things about the launch of the GTX 550 Ti is there will be several models available from Nvidia partners simultaneously, and this one is from ASUS. Bringing a custom cooler and a factory overclock, along with voltage tweaking ability for even more horsepower, today is quite exciting if you're in the market for a new graphics card that won't break the bank.

Default Re: ASUS GTX 550 Ti DirectCU TOP

Iv been having problems with this Card. The card has been over heating alot lately. Whenever iv been playing any high graphic games the heat pipes on this card are burning up and shuts down my computer. Iv been trying everything i know to get this card to cool down. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

    (Edit)
Iv had this card for 3 months now the problem acted up about a month ago. Right now just to keep it cool I have the side of the case off of my computer with a mini fan pointed directly on the card. Just dont see how it heats up so fast. For example : Go into Dead Island and 15 mins later, card is burning up and computer freezes and have to hard boot it...

You probably need better air flow inside the case. Get a high CFM fan for your rear exhaust and maybe add another intake inside somewhere but like stan mentioned up the GPU can first.

What it might be is (Factory) applied Tim, either to much or to little and bad application.

You could check and cure it yourself, But think would just RMA it if possible as could have return problems
if you do it yourself, (Even), if it does cure it.
I retim all my cards, But make sure no problems first.

The cards only 3 months old, he shouldn't have any problems getting a replacement from ASUS, but he does need to contact them as soon as possible, explain the problem and ask to start a RMA

Because I was running it on my 50 inch tv for awhile.

I did contact ASUS they just told me to send it to them.

I did run a test on (Borderlands) I can play just fine on Resolution 640 X 480 Graphics on low. But it will over heat if i use 1920 X 1080 in about 5 mins or less with graphics maxed.

    Thx for the help
