The 6870 X2 is not an official model in AMD's graphics card fleet, so what we have for review today is something from even more unusual. With claims of beating a GTX 580 and the EVGA GTX 460 2WIN, this new PowerColor card has some big performance numbers to hit in order to reach that goal.

As the review said, two of 6870s cheaper vs one of 6870x2. It would be nice if there is a comparison result of 6870s CF vs 6870X2.
edit: damn you guys beat me on the comments

I know they try to go afer Fermi but I think it's wrong timing and pricing. Just wondering what are they thinking?
20% less...still can't justify the $100 more IMO.

well it's depends on personal usage.....see I used to have 4870s CF, I think I paid it close to $300 a pop and I never maximize the its usage because I don't gaming a lot. At the time I just wanted.
As you know the hardware is constently coming out new stuff in very 4 months, new and better. I just can't keep up with it and my money tree in the backyard is dying from the Canadian heat wave at the moment![]()

It is true that very, very few people game at 2560x1600 resolution. That being said, I would bench at that resolution for these types of cards if I had an extra $1500 laying around for a 30" monitor. Another option is to test Eyefinity at 5040x1050 resolution I suppose? Obviously AMD cards couldn't be compared to Nvidia cards though as a result in that circumstance, so we'd have very limited test results.
